The Director of Operations is required under 14 CFR § 119.65 (a) and must meet the standards of this section to perform the duties required to exercise control over operations conducted under the operating certificate.

The DO isresponsible for and has the authority to direct all operational functions. The Director of Operations may delegate functions to other personnel, however, retains complete responsibility. The Director of Operations will be highly knowledgeable of the entire contents of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and all Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to the company operations.

Maintain the company’s objective of providing safe and efficient air transportation in accordance with company policies, procedures, FAA, and other government agency regulations. Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives. Evaluate and ensure that all company policies regarding flight operations is adhered to. Ensure that all flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all Federal Aviation regulations, operations specifications, and company policies. Has operational control of all company aircraft. May delegate this duty to appropriate personnel to ensure that flight operations are conducted in compliance with FAA regulations and policies, but will retain overall responsibility for operational control.

Has authority to act for the certificate holder, including the signing of FAA correspondence and operations specifications. Responsible for communications with the FAA Flight Standards District Office and the National Transportation Safety Board. Files all required reports and documents. Cooperate with the maintenance department to ensure that maintenance functions and operational requirements are coordinated with operations. Coordinate with the safety department on the company safety program and operational audits.
Determines general personnel requirements for the department and assists with hiring and/or discharge of department personnel.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Operations.

The Chief Pilot is required under 14 CFR § 119.65 (a) and must meet the standards of this section to perform the duties required to exercise control over operations conducted under the operating certificate

Supervises the Training, Fleet Managers, Manager of Flight Operations Engineering, Check Airman/Instructors and Pilots. Manager of Flight Standards and Assistant Chief Pilot. Assists Vice President of Operations in his duties and acts for him in his absence
Assures that all FAR’s and safe practices are complied with by flight crew members. Makes recommendations to appropriate management regarding new or improved flight operation policies, practices or procedures. Maintains flight manuals, checklists and crew equipment required for the aircraft. Recruits flight crewmembers Insures adequate flight crew training, testing, recording and archiving of training records Responsible for all flight testing of aircraft when required. Terminates, restricts or suspends operations when conditions are known to be hazardous until those conditions are corrected. The Chief Pilot may delegate functions, but Chief Pilot retains responsibility. The Chief Pilot must be thoroughly familiar with the Company Manuals, Operations Specifications and FAA Regulations.
